EPSI in the Community

Epsi's team of volunteers

Here at EPSI we all believe that it is a company's duty to be actively involved in the community and to contribute to the sustainable development of our society.

In addition to our active participation each year in the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life, EPSI and its employees are proud to make financial contributions to a variety of organizations that are known for their outstanding work in the community. Whether it be through the collection, assembly and distribution of Christmas baskets with Famille Secours and Moisson Outaouais, or our participation in the fund-raising activities of Trait d'Union Outaouais for families with autistic children, each and every gesture puts the firm's strong corporate social responsibility into practice.

In the world of sports, EPSI also supports a number of local organizations, including the Gatineau Sports Development Centre which offers a variety of specialized services. In this regard, we are able to participate in the development of amateur sports in the community.

Finally, on the professional level, EPSI has been committed to the Work and Organisational Psychology Association of Quebec (SQPTO) for the past five years. This unique opportunity allows us to contribute to the development of the practice of organizational psychology in Quebec by sharing our knowledge and experience with influential members of professional and student communities in the province. And, in respect to this last area, the company invites European students for internships every year, helping them gain enriching North American work experience in a stimulating environment.

EPSI 's Participation at the Relay for Life

Epsi's team of volunteers

This past June, EPSI employees participated in the Gatineau Relay for Life, a fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society. The Relay for Life is an opportunity for the community to come together with a number of goals in mind, most notably to celebrate, remember and fight back. All the participants walk, run, skip and jog from seven in the evening to seven in the morning in order to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, to remember loved ones lost to cancer, and to take steps to bring an end to the disease.

Throughout our journey leading up to the Relay, the employees of EPSI as well as friends and family, all greatly contributed to help meet and then exceed the fundraising goal set by Équipe EPSI. On June 18th, 2010 the team proudly took turns walking around the track set up at Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau for a total of 12 hours, encouraging each other and keeping each other awake throughout the night. The camaraderie amongst all participants was incredible, and EPSI team members found the survivors lap to be both touching and inspirational.

We are looking forward to participating once again next year, as we begin our fundraising in the fall. Having exceeded our goal this year and raising more than 5 thousand dollars in only a few months, we are excited to see how much we can gather in triple that time.

In the upcoming year, EPSI will be participating in other events as well, so check back to see where we are volunteering next!
