André Durivage, EPSI President, named professional of the year at the 2012 SQPTO conference!
EPSI President André Durivage was honoured and humbled to accept the 2012 award for “Professional Merit” at the latest SQPTO conference held on May 17 and 18 in Montreal.
The SQPTO [Quebec association of workplace and organizational psychology] is a group of practitioners and researchers dedicated to promoting, advocating and developing industrial and organizational psychology. The association’s conference offers all its members the opportunity to discuss best practices in the field of psychology. This event formed the backdrop for Mr. Durivage’s award.
This honour was a recognition by the SQPTO and peers of the contribution made by André Durivage in boosting the influence of the profession. Mr. Durivage teaches future HR professionals at Université du Québec en Outaouais and is also known for his many publications on metrics and assessments. With these activities, Mr. Durivage has done much to develop the field of organizational psychology. In addition to arranging numerous scientific conferences, he is also known as a pioneer in the development of competency-based approaches.
A skilled orator, André gave an eloquent speech to the SQPTO members. He noted parallels between the theme of the conference, commitment, and his own professional experience, throughout which he worked hard to transmit the best HR practices. At the start of his career, one of his mentors, Len Slivinski, asked him: “Why do you want to work in industrial psychology?” After some consideration, he answered that this field would allow him to better understand people and to make a substantial impact on the business world, especially when careers and important decisions are at stake. He added that he feels like he has truly made a difference.
He also highlighted the crucial work performed by the staff at EPSI. He compared the team to a fertile ground in which knowledge and know-how bloom, saying they made it possible for his firm to be recognized today as one of the best HR consultancies. Lastly, emotion crept into his voice as he thanked his family for their tremendous support: his wife, Julie Thibault, Vice-President of EPSI, and his children, who have given him the personal balance that is so important for any manager deeply committed to his professional community.
We would like to extend our warm thanks to the SQPTO for this fantastic honour awarded to André Durivage for his life’s work. It just goes to show, commitment can be recognized in a big way!

2010 DISTINGUISHED AWARDS
EPSI was named "SME of the year" by the RGA and the Vice President of EPSI was nominated as "Young Entrepreneur - Small Business" of the year by ARISTA.
EPSI was the proud recipient of the "SME of the Year" Award at the RGA (Regroupement des gens d'affaires de la Capitale nationale) Gala. In awarding this honour to EPSI, other businesses and clients in the National Capital Region acknowledged the quality and range of EPSI's products and services.
The renowned Regroupement des gens d'affaires de la Capitale nationale brings together nearly 600 entrepreneurs and managers who conduct business in French in the Eastern Ontario and Ottawa regions. Leading the economic dynamism of the Francophone region, these business professionals hold several billion dollars in purchasing power. A driving force behind regional economic development, the RGA protects and supports the interests of its members with advice and recommendations on major issues affecting the region.
EPSI is also very proud to announce the nomination of its Vice-President Julie Thibault, in the ARISTA Provincial Competition for "Young Entrepreneur of Quebec -Business" category. This provincial competition is organized by the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal [Montreal junior chamber of commerce], which recognizes, encourages, and promotes the success and the excellence of young managers, professionals, and independent entrepreneurs aged 18 to 40 years old. The winner will be announced at the ARISTA Gala which will be held on June 1st, 2010. ARISTA means "excellence" in Greek. The slogan of EPSI is "Expertise for Excellence." Coincidence? No, rather this shows that businesses acknowledge the quality of services offered by our company and our commitment to produce the best assessment tools and processes.
